He played the guitar without an amplifier for the next 3 years until one day he found a broken amplifier in the garbage.
He not only fixed the amp, but discovered how to get natural distortion without any foot pedals by finding broken speakers with holes and placing many of them in a dresser drawer covered with a heavy leather canvas stretched over the front. With this amplifier came the extremely loud sounds of the relentless practicing of all hours into the night.
Soon after his father Ray rebuilt the back porch into Billy’s new room, where he laid concrete blocks with unfinished concrete and sealed him up separated from the other family members so he could practice.
“My development and progress as a “true” artist, would not be possible if not for my best friend Gerry Georgettis, a simple man that I learned a lot from. I dedicate my music, film and art to him.” Billy Yeager
